If you are having a baby, have no shame in shopping in thrift stores or even accepting hand-me-downs.
Babies grow so fast and are so messy that it is a waste of money to buy top of the line clothes all of the time. Most of the time they are just at home or daycare anyhow. You should however buy some cute outfits for when you do go out and expect family and friends over.
I have found some really cute clothes for all of my kids at the thrift stores, and sometimes they even have name brand clothes for a few dollars. I bought my daughter a Tommy Hilfiger dress that looked brand new at the Goodwill store for $2. What a deal!

Thanks Candice KC for the great tip! You're right, trying to impress people with brand new baby clothes is a bunch of wasted money. Check out your local thrift store, Goodwill store, or Salvation Army for great prices on used baby clothes. Your church can also be a good source of baby clothing for less if you talk to the right people.
