If you boiled a pot of water and then placed it in the fridge, that would be a pretty silly waste of energy, wouldn't it? So why put warm leftovers in the fridge?
Every time you place something in the refrigerator, the refrigerator needs to spend electricity to cool it down. The warmer it is, the more electricity it takes.
Be smart and let your leftovers cool to room temperature before you place them in the fridge. It usually only takes 20-30 minutes.
You can pack them away in your Free Tupperware and let them sit on your counter until they cool down.
