Did you know that there are many credit cards available that give you cash back for every dollar you spend?
The credit card I personally use gives me up to 0.75% cash back each year, which usually means a nice $85.00 check in my mailbox. I giggle every time I think that I'm actually being paid to use the credit card. Seems kind of backwards, doesn't it?
Do some research and find a credit card that offers yearly cash back with no sign-up fees or annual fees. Different credit cards will offer different percentages of cash-back, so find the one that works best for you. Make sure you carefully read the agreement before you sign up to ensure it meets your needs.
To maximize the benefit, have all of your household bills automatically billed to your cash-back credit card. You can do this for your phone, internet, heat, electricity, water, and in rare cases you may even be able to have your mortgage or rent payment automatically billed to your card.
As an example, let's say you spend $10,000.00 per year, all of it on your 1% cash-back credit card. That could amount to $100.00 each year!
Just remember, the key to using credit cards is to use them responsibly, and to pay off the full balance every month. If you don't, any money you earn will be lost to interest charges.
